Bandai Namco has announced that Elden Ring: Nightreign, a cooperative spin-off of the acclaimed Elden Ring, will launch on May 30, 2025, priced at $40. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam.

Set in the same universe as the original game, Elden Ring: Nightreign introduces players to Limveld, a constantly changing region that dynamically shifts with each game session, altering the placement and type of enemies, forts, and other structures to provide a new experience with every playthrough.

As a cooperative Soulslike action RPG, Elden Ring: Nightreign focuses on methodical combat, strategic cooperation, and high difficulty. Teams of up to three players, known as Nightfarers, collaborate over three in-game days to prepare for a final boss battle. Players can choose from eight unique characters, each possessing distinct abilities and ultimate attacks. The game features a structured day-and-night cycle that affects exploration, enemy encounters, and overall strategy, culminating in a final confrontation with the Nightlord.

The original Elden Ring, developed by FromSoftware and released in February 2022, has achieved significant critical and commercial success, bringing the soulslike genre into mainstream popularity and selling over 28.6 million copies worldwide as of late 2024. Its expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, released in June 2024, sold five million copies within three days of its launch and was nominated in the “Game of the Year” category at The Game Awards 2024.

A network test for Elden Ring: Nightreign is scheduled for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S from February 14 to February 17.
