  2. There will be no ranked reset during this point.
  3. Players will still have to play 10 ranked matches for rewards.

NetEase has announced that Marvel Rivals will no longer implement a mid-season ranked reset during Season 1, following community feedback. However, players will still be required to complete 10 ranked matches to earn exclusive rewards.

The decision comes after strong pushback from players, many of whom expressed frustration over the prospect of frequent resets disrupting their progress. “I can promise you NOBODY wants to have their rank reset halfway through every season. People have JOBS. I don’t have the time to re-rank up every few weeks,” one Redditor shared.

Others echoed the concern, with some even stating that the system would drive them away from the game. “Out of everything great about this game, this WILL make me and my friends stop playing,” another player wrote.

With the backlash growing across online communities, NetEase responded by scrapping the mid-season reset, ensuring players can maintain their ranks throughout the season. “After the release of Dev Talk 10 regarding the seasonal rank adjustment, we received a wealth of feedback from the community,” they stated on the official Marvel Rivals website.

“A common concern was the pressure associated with having a rank reset every half-season, which has made participating in competitive mode less enjoyable. In light of the community’s input, we have decided to make some changes to optimize the rank system.”

The first phase of Marvel Rivals Season 1 will still conclude on February 21 at 8:00 a.m. UTC. Rewards remain unchanged, with an exclusive skin awarded to players who reach Gold and Crests of Honor granted to those achieving Grandmaster or higher.

Players will no longer be dropped down four divisions, but will instead be placed in the same tier they ended the first half of the season. Marvel Rivals still requires players to play 10 matches in competitive mode to earn new rewards.

In addition to the elimination of the ranked reset for Marvel Rivals Season 1, they are also releasing two new heroes: The Thing and Human Torch. This indicates a four hero release cycle per season – a release schedule the developers may repeat for future season updates.
