- Capcom is planning to extend the Monster Hunter Wilds beta by 24 hours due to the recent PSN outage.
- Exact dates and details for the extension have not yet been announced.
- Sony has also granted a five-day PlayStation Plus subscription extension to affected users.
Capcom has announced plans to extend the Open Beta Test 2 (OBT2) for Monster Hunter Wilds on PlayStation 5, following a recent PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted gameplay. The outage, which began on February 7, 2025, and lasted approximately 24 hours, prevented many players from accessing the beta during its scheduled period.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Capcom addressed the issue: “PS5 hunters, thanks for your patience and understanding during this weekend’s PSN service issues. To account for reduced OBT2 play time due to the outage, we are considering running OBT2 for an additional 24 hours at a future date.”
As of now, specific dates and times for the extended beta have not been confirmed. Players are encouraged to monitor official Monster Hunter communication channels for forthcoming updates.
The PSN outage affected various online services, including account management and access to the PlayStation Store, causing widespread frustration among users. Sony has since restored services but has not provided a detailed explanation for the disruption.
In response to the outage, Sony has announced a five-day extension for PlayStation Plus subscribers to compensate for lost time. The extension will automatically apply to all active subscribers, ensuring they do not lose access to their benefits due to the service downtime.
