Clash of Clans Kicks Off Snake Festival Event

On Feb. 7, 2025, Supercell launched the Snake Festival event in Clash of Clans, marking the start of the Lunar New Year celebrations. The month-long event is about to bring new themed rewards, special troops, and exclusive Hero Equipment.

The main Snake Festival mechanic involves collecting Red Lanterns from multiplayer battles, which can then be exchanged for Snake Medals at the Trader Shop. Players will receive 100 Red Lanterns upon starting the event. 

During the Snake Festival, players can earn Red Lanterns by attacking three random buildings in each raid. Players can also boost their collection rate using spells like Lightning, Fireball, or Giant Arrow. Players in the Legends League will get a slight bonus, allowing them to accumulate Lanterns faster.

To unlock major Snake Festival rewards, players will need to collect up to 16,000 Red Lanterns, unlocking the Snake Shrine obstacle, a free item that will appear in the player’s base.

On top of that, two themed troops are coming during this year’s event. The first one is Snake Barrel, which targets enemy defenses and is available from Town Hall 6 to Town Hall 17. Once the barrel is destroyed, it releases a swarm of snakes that deal high damage but have low health, making them vulnerable to splash damage attacks. The second one is the Firecracker, a returning favorite from last year’s Lunar New Year event. This explosive troop fires projectiles that deal splash damage in a line, similar to the Scattershot. Best used behind tanky units like Root Riders, Yetis, or Giants, the Firecracker offers a potent way to inflict widespread damage while staying protected.

One of the major rewards of the event is the Snake Bracelet for the Barbarian King. This new Hero Equipment provides a passive ability that summons snakes when the Barbarian King takes damage, adding a new layer of strategy to the hero’s already formidable presence on the battlefield. It’s expected to be a powerful addition to any player’s collection, offering unique tactical advantages in combat.

As of November 2024, Clash of Clans has generated approximately $7.2 billion of in-app sales since its launch in 2012. In 2024, the game earned $355 million in revenue, marking a 6% decrease from the previous year.
