- Reportedly, the new DC title in development is a single-player Batman game by Rocksteady.
- Warner Bros. Games will now focus on Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and DC franchises.
- Allegedly, the Wonder Woman game has already spent more than $100 million and is still years away from release.
According to a recent financial call of Warner Bros. Discovery, a new single-player Batman game from Rocksteady Studios, is in the works.
Warner Bros. Discovery’s gaming division has been struggling following the failed launch of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which reportedly contributed to a $200 million loss but will remain supported up to the end of 2025 and underperforming MultiVersus, which contributed to the loss of $100 million and will shut down on May 30, 2025.

In the face of such setbacks, combined with the cancellation of MultiVersus and layoffs at Rocksteady, David Zaslav, President and CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, acknowledged the company’s underperformance in the gaming sector during a recent financial call, saying, “We recognize [the games business] is substantially underperforming its potential right now.”
Zaslav also highlighted the company’s refocus on just four major franchises: Hogwarts Legacy, Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, and DC, particularly Batman.
On top of that, the development of the Wonder Woman game from Monolith Productions seems to be in trouble. After a reboot and a change in directors, the title’s development has reportedly cost more than $100 million and is still years away from release. Meanwhile, Gotham Knights developer WB Games Montreal has struggled to get approval for some of its proposals, including a John Constantine game.
