As per February update to the global Counter-Strike 2 Valve Regional Standings (VRS), Team Spirit has claimed the top position, surpassing G2 Esports.

According to the chart, the Russian esports team that has been headquartered in Belgrade, Serbia, since 2022, sits at the top with 1,968 points. This shift in rankings shows that European team G2 Esports, who held the top spot in January, is now in second place with 1,912 points. Meanwhile, the Mongolian team, The MongolZ, takes third place with 1,879 points.

The updated rankings show that Team Vitality (1,821), FaZe Clan (1,805), and NAVI (1,755) round out the top five, while Eternal Fire (1,687), MOUZ (1,652), Team Falcons (1,645), and Team Liquid (1,603) are rounding out the top 10.

The Brazilian team paiN, which had previously been in the top 10, has dropped to the 16th spot, accumulating only 408 points in the most recent update. HEROIC, which had been in 8th place, experienced a fall, plummeting to 20th after significant roster changes, including the addition of Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kovač and a revamp of their CS2 lineup.

On the other hand, there are rising stories as well; after signing NiKo and other players from HEROIC in January, Team Falcons surged from 58th to 9th place, earning nearly 600 points. However, their tournament run recently came to an end when they were eliminated by G2 Esports at IEM Katowice, the first ESL event of the year, before the major Intel Extreme Masters in Melbourne from April 21st to 27th, 2025.

Introduced in 2024, the VRS system was designed to provide an objective, data-driven ranking of CS2 teams by utilizing an Elo-based algorithm and incorporating factors such as recent performance (the Age Weight metric), tournament prize pools, and LAN victories. The updated rankings will play a crucial role in determining which teams earn invitations to major upcoming tournaments, including BLAST Open Lisbon, PGL Bucharest, YaLLa Compass Qatar, and IEM Melbourne.
