  1. EA CEO Andrew Wilson hinted that the publisher is looking to bring some of its most popular franchises to Nintendo Switch 2.
  2. Nintendo Switch has officially surpassed 150.86 million units sold globally.
  3. CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, has earlier confirmed the plans to bring Xbox games to the new Nintendo Switch.

In a recent earnings call, Electronic Arts (EA) CEO Andrew Wilson hinted that the publisher is looking to bring some of its most popular franchises, like FC, Madden and The Sims, to Nintendo’s upcoming Switch 2.

“Any time a new console comes into the marketplace that’s of a benefit to us, it gives us the ability to access and acquire new players,” Wilson remarked. “Typically, we’ve had franchises perform very well on Nintendo platforms. Certainly our expectation is that products like FC and Madden and others might find real energy on the platform as they have done in the past.”

Wilson also highlighted how casual games exceeded expectations, attracting a significant number of new players to EA’s ecosystem, ”When you think about something like The Sims and the My Sims cozy bundle, which performed well ahead of our expectations, 50% of all players were new to EA. That represents a great opportunity for us.”

The announcement comes as EA continues to evolve its sports games and throw great resources into a new entity that is about to deliver the next Battlefield soon.

With Nintendo’s new console upcoming this spring, EA is not the first who

expresses an intention to deliver their game on new Japanese hardware. CEO of Microsoft Gaming, Phil Spencer, has recently confirmed the plans to bring Xbox games to Nintendo Switch 2.
Meanwhile, the first generation of Nintendo Switch has officially surpassed 150.86 million units sold globally, according to the company’s latest earnings report for the fiscal quarter ending Dec. 31, 2024.
