Capcom’s February 2025 Spotlight event revealed details about a new entry in the Onimusha series, fresh content for Monster Hunter Wilds, the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 launch and Street Fighter 6 upcoming characters.

Capcom Spotlight + Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase - February 2025

Onimusha, the classic action series that blends samurai combat with supernatural elements, is making a return with a new title, Onimusha: Way of the Sword. The game’s story is set during Japan’s Edo Period, bringing with it a fresh protagonist and a riveting tale of fate and vengeance. Players will take on the role of a swordsman wielding the Oni Gauntlet, which can absorb souls from the defeated Genma enemies.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword is currently in development and set for release in 2026, while Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny is getting a remastered version in 2025.

Capcom also revealed further details about Monster Hunter Wilds, the latest entry in the franchise that recently appeared in the collaboration event in Monster Hunter Now. The upcoming Open Beta 2, set for Feb. 6-9 and Feb. 13-16, will feature a new flagship monster, Arkveld. The beta will also introduce online features such as Private Lobbies and Online Single Player mode. Additionally, returning players can transfer data from the first Open Beta and earn a special pendant for their participation. Capcom also teased a new location, the Iceshard Cliffs, a frozen landscape filled with new monsters, including the Gore Magala. The game’s release is set for Feb. 28, 2025.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 will launch on May 16, 2025. It will include a classic company’s fighters, including Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, and Power Stone 2, making it a must-have for both nostalgic fans and competitive players alike.

Street Fighter 6 continues to expand its roster by bringing Mai Shiranui, the iconic character from Fatal Fury. Starting Feb. 5, players can unlock Mai, the second-to-last character in the Year 2 DLC lineup. One more character, Elena, is coming soon as the final addition to the Year 2 season.
