According to the insider NateTheHate, Sony is preparing to host its next State of Play presentation during the week of Valentine’s Day.

State of Play is a series of livestream events produced by Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) to showcase upcoming games for the company’s current gaming platforms: PlayStation VR, PlayStation VR2, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.

“What does your heart tell you?”  NateTheHate cryptically teased Sony’s upcoming broadcast on X (formerly Twitter).

Historically, Sony was using February State of Play events to showcase major first-party and third-party titles slated for release later in the year. Last year’s presentation featured announcements for Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, Foamstars, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach.

An official announcement from Sony is expected soon, which should provide more concrete details about the event’s timing and content, while such titles as Ghost of Yōtei, Marathon, Fairgame$, and Marvel’s Wolverine are awaiting updates.

Besides the news about upcoming titles, Sony has recently announced that starting in January 2026, PlayStation Plus will “occasionally” include PS4 games as part of its monthly offerings, signaling a shift in focus toward PS5 titles. Subscribers will retain access to any PS4 games they’ve already redeemed and can continue playing PS4 titles available in the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog until they are removed.

As of the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, Sony’s PlayStation Plus service generated approximately $3.5 billion in revenue, up from $2.9 billion in the previous fiscal year.
