Microsoft Brings Forza Horizon 5 to Playstation 5
|
- Forza Horizon 5 launches on Playstation 5 in Spring of 2025.
- Crossplay will be available across Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
- A new update, Horizon Realms, is in development.
Previously exclusive to Xbox and PC, Forza Horizon 5 is making its way to Playstation 5. The port includes all previously released content on other platforms, with crossplay support across all three platforms.
According to the official Forza Horizon 5 website, “The PlayStation 5 version of Forza Horizon 5, developed by Panic Button in partnership with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games”, will feature the same content as the Xbox and PC releases of the game. Previously released Car Packs, as well as the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions, will also be available for purchase.
The Forza Horizon series is widely regarded as one of the best in the racing genre, with many players purchasing Xbox consoles specifically for the franchise.
Microsoft’s decision to bring Forza Horizon 5 to PlayStation continues its recent trend of expanding beyond Xbox/PC ecosystem exclusivity. Following the ports of Hi-Fi Rush, Sea of Thieves and, more recently, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, this move further signals Microsoft’s push to make its titles available to a broader audience across multiple platforms.
As of January 30, there is no official release date for Forza Horizon 5 on the Playstation 5, but the game is now listed on the Playstation store.
According to various online sources, Forza Horizon 5 has reached 40 million players, though a significant portion of that number is attributed to Xbox Game Pass. The exact sales figures for Microsoft’s Forza Horizon 5 have not been publicly disclosed.
