Key points

  1. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light mobile port releases February 27, 2025.
  2. Originally released in 2010, the game is an action RPG sprinkled with puzzle-solving.
  3. The game will feature full gamepad compatibility and refined mobile controls.

Feral Interactive announced their port of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light for ios and android devices. The port of the classic game releases on February 27, 2025 and will cost $9.99 (USD).

According to their X account, the game will be “optimised for modern devices with full gamepad support, and features all the levels from the original console/desktop release.” This means players will have the option to use controllers, provided their device supports compatibility.

Judging from the screen shots presented on the app store, the mobile port will support co-operative play. The original console version supported both local couch and online co-op, so the mobile version might support both as well. Their trailer showcased two separate devices playing with, indicating co-operative play, but no evidence of two players on a single device.

Their pre-order posting on the Apple App store showcases both iPhone and iPad screenshots, meaning they will likely have a properly optimized iPad iteration.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light initially released in 2010 for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The game follows Lara Croft, an adventurous archaeologist, who raids tombs by solving puzzles and fighting enemies. Since her initial introduction in 1996, she has become one of the most iconic video game characters of all time – serving as the main protagonist for the Tomb Raiders video games.
