Key points

  1. Doctor Strange players have found a way to deal with Punisher’s Turret.
  2. Doctor Strange’s portal is not just for transportation.
  3. As long as Punisher stays on his turret, this tech should work.

An amusing tech in Marvel Rivals allows Doctor Strange players to disable Punisher’s turret skill and instantly kill him.

One of the most annoying things in Marvel Rivals is a Punisher holding a point with his turret. Left alone, the Punisher can single-handedly make it harder for the opposing team to either take the point or push the payload. Here’s where Doctor Strange comes in.

Doctor Strange is a tank hero in Marvel Rivals and one of his abilities is to set up a portal. Usually, this portal is used to shorten the travel time from the spawn to the capture point or the payload.

However, players soon realized that his portals have more use than just a transportation tool. Seen in the video is a Doctor Strange player using his portal to instantly put Punisher off the map by putting one end of the portal facing towards the edge of the map and the other end under the Punisher’s turret. While the Punisher is mounted on his turret, he won’t be able to move. This allows this trick to work and can definitely shut down the Punisher player especially if he’s positioned in a very advantageous position that isn’t easy to reach.

Before this, Doctor Strange players were already using their portals to troll opponents and make them fall to their deaths by putting a portal in front of their spawn room and then putting the other end of the portal at the edge of the map. However, as the game evolves, players also become aware of gimmicks like this and have become smarter so not a lot fall for these anymore.

Marvel Rivals was developed by NetEase Games which was released back in December 2024. The game has a chokehold on hero shooters currently with more than 83,000 viewers on Twitch and reaches around 400,000 players during its peak hours on Steam alone.
