Key points
  1. Capcom released a Street Fighter 6 gameplay guide of Mai Shiranui.
  2. She’s the second to the last character included in the game’s Year 2 Character Pass.
  3. Street Fighter 6 has sold 4 million copies as of September 2024.

On Jan. 28, Capcom released a gameplay trailer showcasing most of Mai Shiranui’s moves in preparation for her arrival in Street Fighter 6.

Mai Shiranui is fast approaching Street Fighter 6 and she’s looking like a character that might shake the meta. Mai’s gameplay video highlights her special moves and super moves. There are also helpful tips sprinkled throughout the video, which might help players quickly pick up how she’s supposed to be played.

A few things are missing in this trailer, though. Chief among them are her target combos and normals. It’s pretty common to leave these out in trailers like these because they’re not as interesting as the flashy super moves. But for fighting game players, it’s a huge loss.

Thankfully, other content creators like Stephen “Sajam” Lyon, a fighting game commentator, have released their gameplay of Mai Shiranui, giving players a much closer look at the character. This includes everything from the character select, normal moves, and recommended combos.

Mai is set to be released in Street Fighter 6 on Feb. 5. She’s the third character included in the game’s Year 2 character pass, just before Elena, a character that terrorized Street Fighter 4.

Street Fighter 6 has sold 4 million copies, according to a post by Capcom in September 2024. The game won Best Fighting Game at the D.I.C.E Awards 2024 and The Game Awards 2023.
