BLAST Slam II, the second Dota 2 tournament by BLAST, is set to kick off from Feb. 3 to 9, 2025, in Copenhagen, Denmark, bringing together top world teams to compete for a prize pool totaling $1,000,000.
BLAST is a Denmark-based esports production company founded in 2016 and was operating under the name RFRSH until summer 2019. They are best known for being one of the key Counter-Strike tournament organizers, hosting their own professional circuit, Blast Premier.
The BLAST Slam series debuted in Copenhagen in 2024, featuring a King of the Hill/Gauntlet Playoff bracket, rare in top-tier Dota 2 and marking BLAST’s entrance into the Dota 2 esports scene.
BLAST Slam II teams:
- BetBoom Team (defending champion)
- Team Liquid
- Tundra Esports
- Yakult Brothers
- Gaimin Gladiators
- Nigma Galaxy
- Team Falcons
- Xtreme Gaming
- Talon Esports
- PARIVISION
Following the success of the first Slam, BLAST has restructured the prize pool for Slam II and future events. While the total remains at $1,000,000, it is now divided into $750,000 in prize money and $250,000 in team earnings, ensuring every participating team benefits financially. The winning team will take home $300,000 in prize money plus an additional $100,000 in team earnings. The move reflects BLAST’s commitment to fostering growth and long-term investment in the Dota 2 esports ecosystem.
BLAST Slam II’s format is designed to reward consistent performance while ensuring every match counts:
- Group Stage (Feb. 3–5): Two groups of five teams will compete in a round-robin, best-of-one format. All teams advance to the playoffs, with their group-stage results determining their playoff seeding.
- Playoffs (Feb. 6–9): A single-elimination gauntlet structure will test each team’s mettle. Top-seeded teams from the group stage will get an advantage, with the 1st-place finishers advancing directly to the semifinals. All other matches, except the best-of-five Grand Final, will be played as best-of-three.
