We Love Katamari
We Love Katamari is an engaging third-person puzzle-action video game where players take on the role of the Prince, the diminutive 5-centimeter tall son of the powerful King of All Cosmos. In this charming adventure, you’ll roll a magical katamari—an enchanting ball that attracts and collects items smaller than itself. As you progress through various levels, your mission is to gather these objects to meet the unique challenges set forth by the Prince’s father.
We Love Katamari masterfully weaves together two captivating narratives: a self-referential tale where the King of All Cosmos reacts to the overwhelming popularity of Katamari Damacy, and an epic origin story revealing how he ascended to his cosmic throne, met his queen, and became a father.
In response to the success of Katamari Damacy: After achieving his mission to recreate the stars in the sky, the King of All Cosmos is astounded to find himself with a legion of Earthly fans. This sets the stage for We Love Katamari, where he embarks on a quest to grant his fans’ wishes, aided by his son and his son’s cousins. Together, they traverse the planet, rolling up objects into vibrant Katamari creations.
The origin of the King of All Cosmos: The backstory of the King unfolds through engaging cut scenes interspersed throughout the game’s levels. Once merely a prince, the King’s legacy begins with his father, the former King (sometimes referred to as the Emperor of the Cosmos or Papa). The future monarch grew up on a planet that closely resembles Earth, residing in a majestic castle surrounded by lush green fields. As players dive into the gameplay, they are transported to the enchanting world of “The Great Cosmos.”
