Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an epic crossover fighting game created by Capcom in partnership with Eighting. This enhanced edition follows Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, featuring an incredible lineup of characters from both Capcom’s gaming universe and Marvel Comics. It launched in November 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it was also a key launch title for the PlayStation Vita in 2012.
In Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, players assemble a dynamic team of three characters to battle against opponents and strive for victory by knocking them out. While the game retains the core gameplay mechanics from the original, it introduces refinements to the aerial combat and X-Factor systems originally seen in Fate of Two Worlds. With gameplay enhancements and a roster of new fighters, the game also showcases several visual upgrades.
Following the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami, which impacted the DLC schedule for Fate of Two Worlds, the additional content was transformed into a standalone title, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, offered at a special price. Upon release, the game garnered generally favorable reviews; critics applauded the expanded character lineup and enhanced online features, although some pointed out the absence of new game modes and additional features.
