The House of the Dead
The House of the Dead is an exhilarating first-person shooter arcade game that puts players in the shoes of agents Thomas Rogan and “G.” Together, they battle against the horrifying experiments unleashed by the villainous Dr. Curien, a mad scientist with a dark agenda.
On December 18, 1998, Agent Thomas Rogan receives a shocking call for help from his fiancée, Sophie Richards, at the eerie Curien Mansion, the home and lab of renowned biochemist Dr. Roy Curien. Joined by his partner Agent G, they rush to the mansion, confronted by terrifying creatures and mysterious disappearances. A dying man hands them a crucial field journal detailing Curien’s monstrous creations and their vulnerabilities, which becomes essential during boss battles.
Curien, fueled by an obsession with unraveling life’s mysteries, was backed by the DBR Corporation and a dedicated team of scientists. However, his unrelenting quest for knowledge spiraled into madness, resulting in horrifying experiments that unleashed chaos. As they enter the mansion to rescue Sophie, who suffers grievous injuries, Rogan and G delve deeper into Curien’s dark experiments, determined to bring the mad scientist to justice.
In the midst of this horror, Rogan and G face terrifying adversaries, including The Chariot, a relentless undead warrior with a deadly bardiche who gravely injures Sophie, and The Hanged Man, a menacing bat-like creature that abducts her early in the journey. In the game’s third chapter, the AMS agents confront Curien, only to be ambushed by The Hermit, a grotesque spider-like beast, allowing Curien to flee to his lab.
