Their pursuit leads them to a covert cell in Cozumel, Mexico, helmed by Pedro Dominguez, the malevolent leader of Trinity’s High Council. As they navigate ancient tombs under excavation by Trinity, Lara uncovers a temple harboring the legendary Dagger of Chak Chel, alongside mysterious hints of a hidden city. Vivid murals hint at the ominous Silver Box of Ix Chel while warning of “the Cleansing,” a catastrophic Mayan apocalypse that signals an eternal solar eclipse. Ignoring these dire prophecies, Lara seizes the Dagger to thwart Trinity’s nefarious plans, only to be confronted by Dominguez, who reveals that her actions have inadvertently triggered the Cleansing. With nefarious intent, he claims the Dagger to join it with the Box, hoping to harness its power to reshape the world as he desires.
