This act triggered a paradox, distorting time and fracturing the connection between Kain and Raziel.
In this thrilling sequel, players follow Kain on a relentless search for Moebius the Time Streamer, a mystical time traveler, who holds the key to Raziel’s whereabouts and the chaotic shifts in time. Kain investigates a lead provided by Moebius, which guides him to a sinister Vampire citadel. Throughout his journey, Kain uncovers the mystery of a fragmented talisman known as the Balance Emblem, crucial to the Vampire lore. As Kain explores, he unearths ancient murals that unveil a monumental conflict between the first inhabitants of Nosgoth: the Ancient vampires and the Hylden. These murals narrate the tragic tale of how the Hylden, sealed in an alternate dimension by the Pillars of Nosgoth, cursed the Ancients with a thirst for blood, eternal life, and sterility, thus birthing the original Vampires. With the revelations from the murals, Kain learns of a prophecy that foretold the emergence of two champions – one being a Vampire champion wielding the Soul Reaver, and the other a Hylden champion brandishing a flaming sword.
