Heart of China
In the thrilling adventure game “Heart of China,” players embark on a quest to save Kate, the daughter of affluent businessman E.A. Lomax, who has been kidnapped by the nefarious Chinese warlord Li Deng near Chengdu while she was volunteering as a nurse. Lomax enlists the help of Jake “Lucky” Masters, a former World War I fighter pilot, to undertake a perilous mission: journey to Hong Kong, track down a mysterious ninja, and secretly infiltrate Li Deng’s fortress to rescue Kate.
Set against the backdrop of 1930s China and other exotic locales, “Heart of China” offers a romantic adventure reminiscent of classic films like “Raiders of the Lost Ark.” Featuring an intuitive point-and-click gameplay mechanic, players will navigate vibrant environments similar to “Rise of the Dragon,” engaging in interactive storytelling.
The game boasts multiple solutions for various tasks, providing players with the opportunity to explore different strategies and make impactful choices in branching dialogues. However, be cautious—some decisions could lead to the protagonist’s demise or stall the investigation. Additionally, players will encounter arcade sequences that can be bypassed after multiple failed attempts. Notably, “Heart of China” employs digitized photos of real actors layered over beautifully hand-painted graphics, enhancing the immersive experience.
