In this captivating adventure, players take on the role of Cadence, the brave daughter of a legendary treasure hunter who has mysteriously disappeared. While searching for her father, she stumbles into a haunted crypt ruled by the sinister NecroDancer, who seizes Cadence’s heart and compels her to battle his minions to reclaim it. To survive and ultimately confront the NecroDancer, Cadence must navigate through the crypt’s treacherous dungeons, with every move synchronized to the rhythm of the music and her heartbeat.
Deep within the crypt, Cadence encounters one of the NecroDancer’s henchmen, known as “Dead Ringer.” After defeating him, she uncovers the shocking truth that he is her missing dad, freeing him from the NecroDancer’s sinister grasp. Together, they harness the power of the NecroDancer’s enchanted golden Lute to vanquish him and resurrect Cadence’s deceased mother, Melody. However, they soon realize the Lute is cursed; to maintain her life, Melody must play it eternally, risking her very soul as it gradually strips away her humanity, much like the fate faced by the NecroDancer. Determined to lift the Lute’s curse, Melody ventures deeper into the crypt seeking answers.
