Set in a dystopian future, the game follows the story of a rogue mercenary unit called Dead Echo. When members Grayson Hunt and Ishi Sato discover they’ve been duped by their commander, they are cast away to the outer reaches of the galaxy. Bulletstorm’s innovative ‘skillshot’ system delivers unparalleled action and nail-biting excitement, rewarding players for unleashing chaos in imaginative ways. Story:

Bulletstorm is set in the thrilling 26th century, where the Confederation of Planets is defended by a covert black-ops team known as Dead Echo, under the command of the ruthless General Sarrano. Leading a Dead Echo squad, Grayson Hunt (voiced by Steven Blum) is tasked with eliminating what they believe are top-tier drug lords and mass murderers. However, after mistakenly killing civilian reporter Bryce Novak, who documented the chaos brought by Dead Echo, Grayson and his team realize they’ve been manipulated by Sarrano. Choosing the path of space outlaws, they rename themselves Final Echo and go underground, evading Sarrano’s wrath.

A decade later, as they attempt to escape from Sarrano’s massive battlecruiser, the Ulysses, near the desolate planet of Stygia, their ship malfunctions. In a drunken haze, Grayson orders a reckless charge at the Ulysses for revenge, which leads to a catastrophic crash on Stygia’s surface. During the disaster, Grayson’s teammate Ishi Sato (Andrew Kishino) suffers severe injuries, prompting Grayson to search for an energy cell to revive their ship’s medical systems. Stygia, once a vibrant tropical paradise, has devolved into a nightmarish landscape populated by savage tribes and deadly mutant flora.
