A lot of strong Pakistani players were in attendance, including Evo France 2025 champion Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique; however, in a stunning upset, he was sent to the loser’s bracket by a Reina player called Abid Rajpoot and then finally eliminated by a Zafina player called Shehram Tariq.

Nopparut “Book” Hempamorn, another Evo champion, was also eliminated before the top eight, exiting the tournament in 17th place. He was eliminated by another strong Pakistani player, Hafiz Tanveer, who also did not get into the top eight.

What was amazing about this tournament is that most of the players in the top eight had next to zero international exposure — a sign that the region has a deep pool of talent, which struggles to compete on the international stage due to visa restrictions.

Takedown 2025 is a part of the Tekken World Tour 2025, classified as a Challenger-tier tournament, which is a tier lower than Master tier. The winner of the tournament took home $4,449 and gained 300 points in the circuit leaderboard.

On Aug. 3, 2025, Arslan “Arslan Ash” Siddique inched his way closer to beating Justin Wong’s record of nine Evo championships, as he won Tekken 8’s bracket at Evo Vegas 2025 against fellow Pakistani player Atif “Atif” Ijaz.

Arslan Ash’s Evo run showed nothing but dominance. He never lost a set until the very end, in the grand finals, where he fought against his Pakistani brethren. Arslan Ash entered the top eight on the winner’s side of the bracket, while Atif had to claw his way to the grand final from the loser’s side.

Upon meeting in the grand final, both players started out by using Anna Williams, one of Tekken 8’s oppressive characters currently. However, this didn’t turn out well for Arslan Ash, as Atif has been piloting the character for a longer time than him. It resulted in a 0-3 loss for Arslan Ash, leading to a bracket reset.

After that, Arslan tried the Anna one more time, to no avail. This loss backed Arslan into the corner, forcing him to go back to the main character he has been using throughout the game’s lifespan, Nina Williams. This change proved to be the missing element in Arslan’s championship formula, as he won three straight games to take Evo 2025 over Atif and claim his sixth Evo title.

During the event, Bandai Namco also announced a new character coming to the game called Miary Zo. Not much is known about the character aside from her being a fighter from Madagascar using Moraingy.
