Key points
  1. Alban “Stilgar” Dechelotte confirmed that Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov is leaving G2 and moving over to Team Falcons.
  2. M0NESY will replace Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov as Team Falcons’ AWP player.
  3. IEM Melbourne 2025 will be Team Falcons’ first tournament with m0NESY in the roster.

On April 13, G2 CEO Alban “Stilgar” Dechelotte confirmed Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov’s transfer to Team Falcons. This happened right after the PGL Bucharest 2025, where Team Falcons beat G2 in the Grand Final.

“It was obvious that he was becoming a bit disconnected from the rest of the team due to his situation and it was very difficult to have meaningful conversations with potential talents without the clarity around his future,” his post read. Aside from m0NESY’s apparent disconnection with the team, Stilgar also brought up the fact that his contract is expiring this December.

As such, they’re going to use the m0NESY trade to rebuild the G2 roster for the future “instead of hoping for a last minute turn on events.” Rumors have been floating around regarding m0NESY’s replacement in the G2 roster to be Olek “hades” Miskiewicz. According to HLTV, he’s going to be signed as a loan.

The superstar AWPer will replace Abdulkhalik “degster” Gasanov in Team Falcons. However, it’s worth noting that degster was crowned the MVP of their very first S-Tier trophy at PGL Bucharest over m0NESY. HLTV mentions that him being crowned as the MVP is going to help him land more opportunities should he find himself on the bench.

M0NESY published a heartwarming post on Twitter, calling G2 his second family. He will be reunited with Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who was with him when he first entered the G2 roster. NiKo left G2 after 5 years and moved to Team Falcons on January 3, 2025.

Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Melbourne 2025 will be Team Falcons’ first tournament with the updated roster. Coming off a big win in Bucharest and the major acquisition of m0NESY, the team is currently riding a wave of positive momentum.
