Rematch is a 5v5 or 4v4 Football game releasing on July 19 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The title will be available on Xbox Game Pass. Developed by Sloclap, the studio responsible for Sifu, Rematch plays from a third-person perspective, presenting action and skill-based gameplay.
Though the full title releases in the summer, Sloclap is holding beta registrations. The goal of the testing is to “fine-tune [their] online infrastructure and start gathering gameplay feedback from players.” Play tests for Rematch are closed – meaning players must receive an invite from Sloclap to access the beta.
Those interested in participating must sign up on the official website – keys will be distributed progressively to players who sign up to their newsletter. Signing up does not guarantee a spot in the play test. According to Video Game Chronicles, one cycle of the beta runs from April 18 to 19 for Steam.
There are three versions of the game:
- The Standard Edition – $29.99
- The Pro Edition – $39.99
- The Elite Edition – $49.99
The Pro and Elite Editions both grant three day early access to the game. Rematch’s steam posting has the details for the exact content included with each version.
Rematch is marketed to provide a new perspective on football, or American Soccer. It features one player control, meaning players cannot swap around to a different teammate as they deem fit. “Just like football, winning requires both accuracy, fast reactions as well as flawless team collaboration,” the Rematch’s marketing infographic reads.
