Grand Theft Auto 5 Rumored to Join Xbox and PC Game Pass in April

- Grand Theft Auto 5 is rumored to join the Xbox and PC Game Pass later this month.
- The game coming to the Game Pass has been rumored since 2024.
- Grand Theft Auto 5 was first released in 2013 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360.
According to a report by Insider Gaming, Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5) is joining Microsoft’s Game Pass lineup. The game will reportedly be added to the catalog later this month.
GTA 5 coming to the Game Pass is not a new thing, as it has already been reported by leakers and insiders since 2024. In 2024, TezFunz2, a leaker with a focus on Rockstar Games, mentioned that the studio had been testing the possibility of the game being added to Game Pass.
When asked if the Rockstar Launcher will still be needed, the leaker said yes and that it won’t be cross-platform.
On April 3, 2025, rumors came around that GTA 5 is coming to the PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass “later this month,” according to an email allegedly sent to community pages. The leaker also mentioned that it’s coming to Xbox Cloud Gaming.
The rumor mentioned “later this year,” which is on track as Microsoft just released the full list of games entering Game Pass in the first half of April. GTA 5 was nowhere on that list.
Grand Theft Auto 5 was developed by Rockstar Games and was released in 2013. It was first released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. In 2014, it was released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A PC version followed in April 2015. Its latest iteration was the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S version released in 2022.
