Atomfall hits a mark of 1.5 million players in less than a week since its launch on March 27, 2025. Rebellion Developments’ post-apocalyptic survival game was released for PlayStation 4|5, PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S available on day one to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers at no additional cost.
According to the press release, 316,000 gamers have killed the scientist at the very beginning of the game. At the same time, Atomfall has already seen over 3.7 million kills with a cricket bat, and about 4 million pasties and 300,000 cups of tea have been consumed.
Rebellion Developments CEO Jason Kingsley called the response “delightful,” crediting the team’s creativity and Rebellion’s ability to take risks on new IP. “Our size and stability let us create something as different as Atomfall,” he said. “Happily, that risk is paying off.”
A brand-new IP set in an alternative history 1960s, where the Windscale nuclear disasters turned much of Northern England into a radioactive quarantine zone, became Rebellion’s most successful launch in the company’s 32-year history.
“We are delighted that so many players are enjoying Atomfall,” said Jason Kingsley, co-founder and CEO of Rebellion. “Our size and stability mean that we can take risks to create something as different as Atomfall. Happily, that risk is paying off.”
