VG Entertainment Studio has unveiled its latest project, Forest Reigns, a story-driven first-person shooter set in a post-apocalyptic Paris where nature has reclaimed the iconic City of Light.

Announced for PC, with console versions also planned, the game combines survival crafting, a non-linear narrative, and an unpredictable environment to create a fresh twist on the FPS genre.

The company behind the upcoming title VG Entertainment was formerly known as Vostok Games, author of Survarium, a free-to-play online first-person shooter with role-playing and survival elements that was played approximately by 5.7 million players and a battle royale game Fear the Wolves set in Chornobyl.

“We’ve always had a passion for creating system-driven games, where the player’s freedom of action could shape the story and provide unique playthrough experiences,” said Ruslan Didenko, head of VG Entertainment Studio. “After years of multiplayer online production, we are now ‘back to the roots’ with creating Forest Reigns – a solid single-player FPS with a twisted story, exploration, survival, role-playing elements, and on top of all that, the interactive environment! This is the most daring concept we’ve ever explored.”

Forest Reigns introduces a world where the environment itself is a character. Players will face an unpredictable forest that can either be an ally or an adversary. “If you attack the forest, it will attack you back. But if you play the situation just right, you can get it to attack your enemies instead,” teased Didenko.

The gameplay will be a blend of stealth, exploration, and resource management, allowing players to upgrade their weapons and adapt their strategies to survive. Iconic Parisian landmarks, transformed into overgrown ruins, serve as the hauntingly beautiful yet treacherous playground for players.
