PUBG: Battlegrounds Celebrates April Fool’s with a Time-Limited Dating Sim

|
- PUBG has released a dating sim called Winner Winner Romantic Dinner that is available on the game’s website.
- The title features mic-based mini-games and characters based on PUBG’s weapons and will last until April 29, 2025.
- PUBG Battlegrounds is also hosting an in-game event called Land, Love, Survive that will run until April 8, 2025.
Winner Winner Romantic Dinner dating sim was launched on the official website of PUBG Battlegrounds, turning popular weapons into female anime characters for the limited-time event.
The game puts players in the role of a sophomore at the Armory High School in Erangel City and allows them to pursue a romance with human representations of PUBG’s iconic firearms. The quirky game will be available until April 29, 2025.
Among characters based on PUBG’s weapons created by Krafton’s AI game development studio ReLU Games are Molly Tova, inspired by the Molotov Cocktail, AUG-chan, who represents the AUG rifle, and embodiments of AKM and KAR98K.
This dating sim has mini-games, including mic-based challenges (optional). There are three different endings to pursue, and those who complete all paths can get exclusive rewards like Contraband Coupons, sprays, emblems, and 500 G-Coin.
Alongside the dating sim, PUBG Battlegrounds is also hosting an in-game event called Land, Love, Survive. It will run until April 8, 2025, with the main purpose of encouraging players to team up for cooperative play.
PUBG isn’t alone in delivering bizarre April Fool’s Day experiences. Last year, Palworld developer Pocketpair teased a fake dating sim called Palworld: More Than Just Pals. This year, they doubled down, revealing a Steam page for the project.
As of December 2024, PUBG: Battlegrounds has sold more than 84 million copies globally across PC and console platforms since its launch in 2017. This total excludes the free-to-play mobile version, PUBG Mobile, which has earned over $10 billion in revenue since its release in March 2018.
