Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Season 3 Update Allows Console Players to Turn Off Cross-Play

|
- Cross-platform play can be turned off for console players in standard Black Ops 6 matches.
- Players could previously only disable during Ranked Play mode.
- Season 3 added other anti-cheat efforts.
Activision implemented a massive update for Call of Duty Black Ops 6 season 3, which included the option for players to turn off cross-platform play during standard matches – a feature that was previously only available for ranked play.
The decision to implement this feature stems from the widespread existence of cheaters, who are mostly on PC servers due to direct modding capabilities. Activision is making efforts to compensate players adversely affected by hackers, thereby hoping to create more competitive integrity.
In addition, when a ranked player cheater is banned, those defeated by the cheater will be compensated appropriately. Activision is also scrubbing the leaderboard of alleged cheaters. Here are the exact changes, as stated by the official Call of Duty webpage:
Retroactive SR Adjustments
- To help reverse the impact cheaters have on the Ranked Play SR system, retroactive SR adjustments will be made starting in Season 03. When a Ranked Play cheater is banned, anyone they’ve recently beaten will receive a SR refund for those matches.
- Players who we detect playing with cheaters may have SR for those wins taken away.
Many players supposedly reported other non-hackers – a trend that resulted largely from lack of knowledge of the Recon Scout Perk, which reveals players’ locations. The Kill-Cam will now allow the player to see various elements leading up to their demise.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has more anti-cheat policies on the way. Activision stated that it will release an updated report on new anti-cheat efforts “closer to the Season 3 Reloaded update.”
Black Ops 6 earned the title of the best-selling premium video game 2024. After the release of Black Ops 6, Call of Duty achieved 500 million copies sold across its franchise – with Black Ops 6 being the biggest release in the franchise’s history.
