Gamers celebrated an update presented on Steam for Hollow Knight: Silksong – a title that has been delayed numerous times. The update essentially changed the copyright year from 2019 to 2025 alongside announced support for GeForce NOW. Other minor asset changes were implemented as well.
Media outlets, such as IGN, Kotaku and PCGamer quickly covered the news, as Hollow Knight fans have been eagerly waiting for any update regarding the game’s state.
No release date or trailer announcement were revealed. IGN speculates that “it all points to something Hollow Knight: Silksong-related happening soon, a potential 2025 release.”
The title was announced six years ago, and was originally planned as an expansion DLC for the original title — but the scope of the game became too big, resulting in Team Cherry committing to making a complete sequel to the critically appraised platformer.
Silksong was initially slated to release in 2023 — a release schedule that was originally announced by Microsoft during its Xbox-Bethesda Showcase. No official release date has yet been confirmed. Hollow Knight: Silkson will debut on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Hollow Knight: Silksong is one of the most wishlisted games on Steam.
