Square Enix brings a new crossover collaboration between Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. The event is planned to last from January 29th through February 26th, bringing new content and exclusive rewards to the mobile spinoff.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis, a mobile game that hosts the event, retells events from the 1997 video game Final Fantasy VII and all canon titles in the Compilation of the Final Fantasy VII media franchise, including the film Advent Children and the video games Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus through monthly episodic installments. The game also features an original storyline set 15 years before Final Fantasy VII, focusing on Sephiroth’s past and three new characters, Glenn, Matt, and Lucia.

The guest title, which is coming for the crossover, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020) and the second in a planned trilogy of games remaking the 1997 PlayStation game Final Fantasy VII.

The crossover of two titles that are retelling the lore of original games introduces fresh gear for Aerith, Yuffie, and Barrett, alongside a new in-game wallpaper. As a bonus, there is a daily free 10x draw, which adds up to 280 free draws over the event period. Additionally, players can earn up to 1,000 Blue Crystals.

But the real thing of the upcoming crossover is the addition of Cid Highwind, a character who joins the roster as part of the release of Final Fantasy VII Chapter 8: An Encounter with the Past.

As of October 2024, the Final Fantasy franchise has over 195 million units sold worldwide and an estimated total revenue of approximately $20 billion.
