Unity has announced that Unite2025, the company’s flagship conference, will return to Barcelona on November 19-20. The event is expected to feature major announcements regarding the future of the Unity engine.

The announcement came from Unity’s official Twitter account. Unity also revealed that session submissions will open in the coming weeks. These sessions are lectures that explore various aspects of the engine, providing developers with insights and ideas for their projects.

Unite2025 will serve as a networking hub for developers using Unity. At Unite2024, the conference featured hands-on technical demos and after-hours events such as Happy Hour and an After-Party. The event also included a segment presenting the nominees for the Unity Awards 2024, and a similar segment is expected at Unite2025.

Unity typically uses this conference to announce future updates for the engine. Unite2024 saw the reveal of Unity 6, along with a roadmap for upcoming releases. According to a Unity press release provided by Business Wire in 2024, Unity 6 is the “most stable and performant version of Unity.”

In February, Unity reported a 25% decline in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2024. However, Unity CEO and President Matt Bromberg remains optimistic about the company’s future, attributing the decline to a “portfolio reset.”

Early last year, Unity laid off 1,800 workers as part of a “company reset” announced in November 2023. Additionally, in February 2025, Unity fired the team behind its Unity Behaviour tool.

Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies, first released in June 2005. In 2024, the engine was used by 5 million users. Notable recent titles developed using Unity include Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, Super Mario RPG Remake, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown.
