The schedule was announced for the inaugural First Stand Tournament 2025, an esports League of Legends event organized by Riot Games and set to take place at LoL Park in Seoul, South Korea, starting on March 10 till March 16.
The tournament will feature the best teams from the five major LoL leagues: LCK (Korea), LPL (China), LEC (Europe), LTA (Americas), and LCP (Asia-Pacific).
First Stand Schedule:
- Round Robin Stage (March 10-14): 17:00 KST / 01:00 PDT / 09:00 CET
- Knockout Stage – Semifinals (March 15): 13:00 KST / 21:00 (March 14) PDT / 05:00 CET
- Knockout Stage – Finals (March 16): 17:00 KST / 01:00 PDT / 09:00 CET
The First Stand tournament will feature two distinct stages. First, the five regional champions will face off in a round-robin, best-of-three (BO3) group stage. Each team will play against the others in a random order, with a special rule ensuring fairness in side selection. After each match, the team finishing at the bottom of the group will be eliminated, leaving four teams to advance to the knockout stage.
The Knockout stage is a single-elimination, best-of-five (BO5) bracket, where the top seed from the group stage faces the fourth seed, and the second seed meets the third. The victorious teams will progress, eventually culminating in the crowning of the first First Stand champion. Beyond the prestige of winning the event, the champion will also secure an automatic berth into the bracket stage of the 2025 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI).
First Stand will also bring the introduction of Riot’s Fearless Draft, a format aimed at further diversifying gameplay strategies. Traditionally, teams select champions from a shared pool, with each team banning specific champions before picking their own. But in Fearless Draft, champions used in one game are banned for the remainder of the series, forcing teams to think on their feet and rely on a broader champion pool.
