The Sims 4 Sees the Return of An Iconic NPC, The Burglar

|
- The Burglar finally makes their way to Sims 4 to steal valuable items from Sim lots.
- Players will have different ways to deal with the Burglar.
- The Burglar’s addition to the game does not need the player to purchase any DLC.
A recent update for the Sims 4 introduces The Burglar, a Sim that’s bent on stealing household items. The Burglar has been in all iterations of the Sims, however, it took Sims 4 a decade to add the character.
With the Burglar seeing their return, EA has also introduced new ways to deal with it. The first one is the Burglar Alarm which will notify the police once the Burglar spawns into the Sim’s lot. There are also other ways to deal with the Burglar, namely:
- Dogs will chase the Burglar out.
- Werewolves can intimidate the Burglar.
- Spellcasters can also deal with the Burglar with their spells.
- Servos can zap the Burglar.
- Scientists can use the Freeze Ray to freeze them.
- Vampires can drain the Burglar’s energy and command them to leave after converting them into their minion.
Aside from these, the Sims themselves can interact with the Burglar fully. The player’s Sim might be able to talk to the Burglar or call the police themselves if they don’t have a Burglar Alarm. EA’s blog post also reveals that there are over 50 unique reactions to the Burglar, including teenagers taking a selfie with the Burglar before running to safety.
The Burglar’s addition to the game doesn’t require players to purchase a DLC. They’re included in the base game which means that simply updating the game will automatically add them to the game.
The Sims 4 was released in September 2014 and received mixed review scores from different outlets. The game’s PC version hangs on a 70/100 score on Metacritic. The game also announced its latest expansion pack, Businesses & Hobbies which will be available on March 6.
