- Pokémon Unite is cracking down on toxic players by introducing harsher penalties.
- Players caught being toxic may face account suspension at worst.
- The developers are encouraging players to report toxic individuals.
Pokémon Unite is strengthening its anti-toxic stance by introducing harshest penalties to dissuade players from being toxic while in-game. According to the developers, they’re strengthening the monitoring of report histories in order to look for players who are disruptive.
Pokémon Unite is now considering even more significant reductions in Fair-Play Points, restrictions on ranked matches, and even the suspension of accounts on the following actions:
- Battle Abandonment: Intentionally ceasing control or disrupting the match during battle.
- Acts Benefiting the Opposing Team: Intentionally getting knocked out or engaging in actions that create an advantage for the opposing team.
- Disruptive Behavior Toward Teammates: Hindering teammates’ movements, intentionally blocking goal attempts, or otherwise disrupting team coordination.
- Excessive Use of Quick Chat: Spamming Quick Chat excessively with the intent to annoy or disrupt teammates.
- Offensive or Inappropriate Chat: Sending messages or making statements that other Trainers may find offensive.
Fair-Play points are a mechanic in Pokémon Unite that allows a player to earn 20 Aeos Coins daily, as long as their points are 90 and above. The behaviors above will result in decreasing Fair-Play points and is an easy way to see if a player is toxic or not.
The developers are also encouraging players to report anyone participating in toxic behaviors, telling players to report them on the results screen after the battle. According to the developers, this makes it easier for them to assess the situation.
