MOUZ finally won its first Tier 1 Dota 2 tournament since its RaidCall EMS One Summer Season win in July 2013, when the organization was still called mousesports. The team made this feat possible with two stand-ins in the roster: Daniel “Ghost” Chan and Oleh “kaori” Medvedok.
The team’s last Tier 1 win, RaidCall EMS One Summer Season, was a dominant showing against every other team in the competition. In this tournament, MOUZ wasn’t as untouchable as before, even losing its first game in the playoffs against PARIVISION, dropping them down to the lower bracket very early.
MOUZ’s true potential in this tournament was unlocked after the defeat against PARIVISION. After that, they swept through HEROIC and OG. In the lower bracket semifinals, the team had to fight BetBoom Team, the defending champion of PGL Wallachia. MOUZ was able to avoid elimination by performing a reverse sweep against the champions, ending the series 2-1.
The team’s biggest hurdle was waiting for them in the Grand Final of the tournament: Team Spirit. They won this year’s Esports World Cup 2025 Dota 2 tournament, defeating the crowd favorite Team Falcons in the grand final in a 3-0 fashion. The team also has two Tier 1 tournament wins this year alone, to add to its already impressive resume.
MOUZ lost the first match against Team Spirit in a 50+ minute marathon of a game. The team fired back and took games two and three, before Team Spirit stopped their momentum and won game four. MOUZ powered through the fifth game and eventually won it, finally getting its first Tier 1 win in years.
Just two days after winning the title, MOUZ is now competing in the BLAST Slam V, where they are currently 2-0 in the group stage, beating both NAVI and XG.
