Far Cry anthology franchise of first-person shooter games published by Ubisoft will get an interpretation in the form of a TV show, produced by FX Productions, as was revealed by the company on Nov. 25, 2025.
Just like the game series, the TV show will also be an anthology changing the plot, setting, and characters each season.
Winner of two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program and one of the executive producers of the sports documentary series Welcome to Wrexham, Rob McElhenney, mostly known for his roles as Mac on the comedy series It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Ian Grimm on the comedy series Mythic Quest, will star in the first season of the Far Cry TV series and also executive produce the show with Noah Hawley, creator of the Emmy-winning anthology series Fargo and Alien: Earth.
Besides Mac and Hawley, FX’s Far Cry will be executive produced by Emilia Serrano, Nick Frenkel, Jackie Cohn, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill.
According to the announcement, the project will stream on Hulu in the US and Disney+ globally.
