Upcoming survival horror game Resident Evil Requiem surpassed 3 million wishlists, according to an announcement posted on the franchise’s official X (formerly Twitter) account on Nov. 21, 2025. It took almost six months for the game to reach the numbers since its official reveal on June 6, 2025.
Developed and published by Capcom, the ninth main installment in the Resident Evil series, following 2021’s Resident Evil Village, is slated for release on Feb. 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2.
The story of the game focuses on Grace Ashcroft, an FBI technical analyst dispatched to investigate a series of strange deaths at a hotel that was also the site of her mother’s death eight years prior.
The title will bring players back to Raccoon City, the setting of eight other titles from the Resident Evil series, located in Arklay County, an isolated area in the Midwestern United States, which was destroyed during the t-Virus outbreak in 1998, an event that occurred during 1999’s Resident Evil 3: Nemesis.
Allowing players to switch between first-person and third-person perspectives at any time during gameplay, Resident Evil Requiem is built on the RE Engine, just like other Resident Evil titles since 2017’s Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
