On Nov. 21, 2025, Grinding Gear Games announced that a GGG Live is happening on Dec. 4, talking about the upcoming major update to Path of Exile 2, The Last of the Druids. The update is expected to introduce the Druid class into the game.
Player reception of the announcement has been very positive, with players replying to the X post with GIFs of wolves, and even those who are panicking because the class is finally being added to the game.
For a little bit of context, Druids in Path of Exile 2 are one of the much-awaited classes to be added to the game. Grinding Gear Games showcased gameplay of the Druid two years ago, then suddenly went quiet regarding the class’s addition to the game.
Additionally, a free weekend spanning from Dec. 13 to Dec. 16 is also going to coincide with the major update’s release date, allowing even those without an early access key to be able to play the game’s newest update.
Progress made during the free weekend will carry over to the full purchase of an early access key or when the game finally comes out free-to-play.
Path of Exile 2 was released on Dec. 6, 2024, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Currently, it’s still in early access, but after that phase, Grinding Gear Games is going to release the game as free-to-play.
