NetEase delivers 8.2% revenue increase year-over-year, gaming up by 11.8%

On Nov. 20, 2025, NetEase published its financial results for the third quarter of 2025, revealing an 8.2% increase in revenue year-over-year, with gaming being a large contributor, shooting up 11.8% compared to the previous year.
With gaming, the company has cited a few games, including Fantasy Westward Journey Online which has achieved four consecutive record peak concurrent player counts since the third quarter. The game’s highest player count was 3.58 million, according to the report.
NetEase added that Fantasy Westward Journey Online was able to do this by collaborating with other games such as Identity V, Eggy Party, Sword of Justice and Where Winds Meet. Additionally, NetEase also mentioned that Destiny: Rising topped the iOS download charts in various regions.
Blizzard games were also mentioned in the mix, saying that the World of Warcraft China-exclusive server, Titan Reforged, was released on Nov. 18, which ignited strong enthusiasm among local players. NetEase also confirmed that Diablo IV is arriving in the region on Dec. 12, 2025.
Finally, the upcoming Sea of Remnants is still slated for a 2026 release window. Little information was mentioned in the financial reports regarding its exact release date. Other segments of the company, like music and innovative businesses, have suffered a decline in revenue.
