Mafia: The Old Country adds Free Ride tomorrow, allows players to travel around the game’s map

On Nov. 19, 2025, Hangar 13 announced that it’s introducing the Free Ride update on Nov. 20, 2025, to its newest Mafia game, Mafia: The Old Country. This feature allows players to “revisit the world in a more self-guided way.”
According to the press release, players will be able to encounter challenges such as combat, stealth and different racing types. Participating in these challenges will reward players with be rewarded with Dinaris that they can use to unlock new outfits, charms, weapons and even vehicles.
The developers are suggesting players try the first-person driving first, saying that it’s probably the most immersive way possible for players to experience Valle Dorata. The developers are also suggesting that players keep an eye on Enzo’s apartment for note that may lead them to an interesting investigation.
The developers mentioned that while the Free Ride that will be available in Mafia: The Old Country is going to be slightly different, it will feel familiar for returning fans of the game.
Mafia: The Old Country was released on Aug. 8, 2025, for the PlayStation 5, PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game is currently celebrating a mostly positive review on Steam. During its launch, the game reached an all-time concurrent Steam player count of 35,247, but nowadays, it gets fewer than 1000 players every day.
