Ghost of Yōtei will receive free update with New Game Plus, new cosmetics and more

Ghost of Yotei will receive a free update containing new cosmetics, new Trophies, new Photo Mode features, New Game Plus, and more on Nov. 24, 2025.

New Game Plus will allow players to replay the game from the beginning while keeping everything earned throughout the campaign. It will become avalialbe after the player finishes the main story, and will add new harder difficulty options and two new Trophies.

Besides that, the game will receive a new currency called Ghost Flowers, exchangeable with a new vendor for more than 30 new cosmetic pieces, including new armor sets, weapon dyes, and 10 new charms. The update will also bring an additional tier of upgrades for the existing armor sets and weapons to earn.

Starting with this new patch, players will be able to replay content in the post-game after completing the main story, including a new stats display.

Game’s developers will also add new accessibility options in the update, including directional button remapping, and new Photo Mode features such as shutter speed, a composition grid, and new filters.

Released for PlayStation 5 on Oct. 2, 2025, developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment Ghost of Yotei is the sequel to the 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima.

Set in 1603, at the dawn of the Edo period, in the land of Ezo, home to Mount Yōtei, the game allows players to take on the role of Atsu, a woman who survived a slaughter by the Yōtei Six 16 years ago but lost her family there. As Atsu survived, she taught herself how to fight, and players are about to follow her list of revenge, which includes The Snake, The Oni, The Kitsune, The Spider, The Dragon and Lord Saito.

As of the time of writing, Ghost of Yōtei has a Metascore of 86 based on 133 critic reviews, along with a “Generally Favorable” user score of 8.2 based on 2,373 user ratings.

Ghost of Yotei surpassed 3.3 million copies sold, as reported by Gaming.News.
