A partnership intending to bring Unity games into Fortnite was announced on Nov. 19, 2025, by the competing game engine platforms: Unity developer Unity Software and Unreal Engine developer Epic Games.
Due to the partnership, developers who create their games on Unity will be able to publish their titles in Fortnite and participate in the Fortnite Creator Economy.
On top of that, from now on Unity will be bringing Unreal Engine support to their cross-platform commerce platform, giving Unreal developers more choice for managing their digital catalogs and payment providers across PC, mobile, and web. Developers will be able to manage pricing, promotions, and live operations with Unreal Engine when the feature launches in early 2026.
“Choice and open systems create growth for everyone in the gaming ecosystem,” said Matt Bromberg, President and CEO, Unity.
“Just like the early days of the web, we believe that companies need to work together in order to build the open metaverse in a way that’s interoperable and fair,” said Tim Sweeney, Founder and CEO of Epic Games.
More details on the revealed partnership and product timing are promised to be shared in 2026.
