NCSoft unveils MMORPG Horizon Steel Frontiers set in Horizon universe

On Nov. 13, 2025, NCSoft announced Horizon Steel Frontiers, an MMORPG set in the Horizon universe. In a press release, the company said that the game will build on “Horizon’s signature hunting-action gameplay while introducing advanced MMORPG systems.”

On its website, the developers left more information regarding the game, indicating that it will be a survival adventure MMORPG and will allow players to create characters using “deep customization and boundless freedom.”

The developers also released an announcement video, which contains comments from key people involved in the development of the game. Sung-Gu Lee, executive producer at NCSoft, talked about the core concept of the game, which is all about “taking down colossal machines.”

He added that the team’s main focus for the game is designing a combat experience tailored for an MMORPG, giving an example of destroying specific parts of monsters and being able to climb them during fights.

Horizon Steel Frontiers was announced at G-Star 2025, Korea’s premier game conference. The game has neither an exact release date nor an available release window.

It will be on PC through NCSoft’s Purple app and on Android and iOS, supporting cross-platform play between devices.
