Elden Ring: Nightreign – The Forsaken Hollows expansion will feature two new playable characters along with two new bosses.
One of the upcoming characters is Scholar, an academic who walks the Lands Between, distinct in arcane levels. The second is Undertaker, an abbess mandated to slay the Nightlord, notable for impressive strength and faith.
Developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco, Elden Ring: Nightreign was released on May 30, 2025, for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Directed by Junya Ishizaki, who worked as a designer on Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, and Elden Ring, and set in a land called Limveld, Elden Ring: Nightreign features a shrinking gameplay area that resets each time players defeat the minor boss at the end of an in-game day.
The game, playable in duos, trios, and solo, has a main story with four alternate endings, along with individual storylines called Remembrances for each of the eight playable Nightfarers, certain of which result in different game endings. While the title encourages cooperation, it is missing both voice and text chat.
