Ghost of Yotei surpassed 3.3 million copies sold, according to Sony’s report on financial results for the second quarter ended Sept. 30, 2025, published on Nov. 11, 2025.
Released for PlayStation 5 on Oct. 2, 2025, the action-adventure game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment is the sequel to the 2020’s Ghost of Tsushima.
Set in 1603 at the dawn of the Edo period, Ghost of Yōtei takes players to the land of Ezo, home to Mount Yōtei. In the new setting, players take on the role of Atsu, a character who loses her family in a slaughter by the Yōtei Six, teaches herself how to fight and proceeds to execute her family’s murderers, whom she has put on a special list of revenge.
The first installment in the series, Ghost of Tsushima, has surpassed 13 million copies sold globally as of September 2024, with 2.4 million units sold within its first three days after release. It was initially released as a PlayStation exclusive but received a Windows PC port four years later.
