The Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Switch 2 upgrade will cost $5 during the first week of release, increasing to $10 thereafter. The Switch 2 edition is slated to release on Dec. 4, priced at $69.99. The typical upgrade cost for a Nintendo Switch 2 edition of a game is $10, but Animal Crossing: New Horizons also revealed a similar pricing structure, where it will only cost $5.

Owners of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Nintendo Switch 2 Edition will also receive the Werehog Pack as a bonus until Dec. 17.

The Sonic Racing game is already available on the base Nintendo Switch, which released on Sept. 25, 2025. The original Switch version launched alongside the other major platforms — PlayStation, Xbox and PC. 

In other Sonic Racing news, Yakuza series protagonist Ichiban Kasuga is scheduled to join the game for free, alongside some other cosmetics.

Here is a list of the unlockable free cosmetics:

  • Ichiban Kasuga playable character
  • Dragon Brave vehicle
  • Two new Like a Dragon songs in the jukebox
  • Special emotes and sounds

The Ichiban Kasuga Festival begins on Nov. 7, concluding on Nov. 10. During the festival, players who participated in online multiplayer races can collect Festival Points, which help unlock exclusive rewards.
