Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth

Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth is the nostalgic PlayStation Portable adaptation of the classic RPG Valkyrie Profile, originally developed for the Japanese PlayStation. This version maintains the essence of the original without incorporating the gameplay enhancements found in the English release, yet it keeps the additional cinematic features intact. The game now includes full-motion video sequences for story events instead of the original anime cutscenes.

One notable change is in Lezard Valeth’s teleportation circle, which transitioned from a pink pentagram to a purple circle, although this remains unchanged in the Portable version. Additionally, the names of the characters—Frei and Freya—were swapped compared to their Norse mythology roots and the Japanese version (where Frei is depicted as the elder brother).

The English edition of Lenneth boasts an upgraded localization over the original game’s script and features the original English voiceover track. Square Enix refined the game’s English dialogue and engaged New Generation Pictures to record the extra voiceover for CG cutscenes, departing from the original voice production company, TAJ Productions.
