Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds to add Joker in upcoming update this week

On Oct. 21, 2025, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds published a post on X announcing the addition of Joker from Persona 5 on Oct. 22, 2025. Together with his addition, a themed car tailored to the Phantom Thieves of Hearts is also included in the event.
A festival called the Joker Festival will also run from Oct. 23 to Oct. 26, 2025. During the festival, players won’t be able to play World Match, the ranked mode of the game.
Joker is the latest addition to the characters available in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. Before him, Steve, Alex and Creeper from Minecraft were added to the lineup on Oct. 9, 2025. Their addition included a new machine, a new course and music.
And even before the addition of the Minecraft characters, “SpongeBob SquarePants” characters were also added to the game, as well as Sega’s very own Hatsune Miku. While the Minecraft collaboration was part of the game’s paid DLC, Joker’s addition is part of a free update, according to the X post.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a racing game from Sega featuring the iconic blue hedgehog Sonic and his friends. The game was on Sept. 25, 2025, for the PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
